Are actively cheering for it. Until one of the consequences hits them in the face. There is this idea that they're speciaal and bad consequences are only for "the other". Of course, for the ones running this thing, the others are basically anyone not at least a millionaire.

Its not just immigrants. Without due process, they can take anyone without any reason given and send them to the concentration camps.
I swim in deep red waters. They are more than fine with this part. They celebrate raising the debt for exactly this.
They've had this feeling for decades that the debt is a run away train so that the government can pay for stuff they really really don't like. Finally, that run away train is going to do something they really really like.
That it's built to run over all of us is lost on them.
