Donald Trump ordered ICE officers to prioritize deportations in Democrat-run cities in a wild Truth Social rant Sunday night.

Trump issued the unprecedented, politically motivated orders just hours after millions of protesters gathered in major American cities, calling for Trump’s megalomania to be curbed.

Trump told ICE staff to “do all in their power” to detain and deport undocumented immigrants in Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York.

Protests in these cities—and many more Democrat-controlled districts—attracted millions of citizens on Saturday, dwarfing the crowd that attended Trump’s birthday parade in Washington, D.C.

How is this man our president

[–] MetalMachine@feddit.nl 3 points 1 hour ago

Broken election system that let's the PACs and the rich control it. Ban PAC donations and limit campaign funding.

[–] RedditIsDeddit@lemmy.world 4 points 2 hours ago

By stealing elections

[–] conditional_soup@lemm.ee 1 points 1 hour ago

We're an empire in decline. I imagine we'd probably feel quite a deal of spiritual kinship with Romans living under Nero or Caligula

Is this a red line

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 20 points 7 hours ago

Oh, you mean most of them?

[–] j0ester@lemmy.world 28 points 8 hours ago

Hey DOGE! I found the waste, fraud, and corruption. ICE.

[–] BioDriver@lemmy.world 35 points 9 hours ago

Literally gestapo

[–] greedytacothief@lemmy.dbzer0.com 29 points 8 hours ago (3 children)

He's trying to get us mad and become violent so he can declare martial law. He wants his opposition to look more like bad guys to his fan base.

[–] hexonxonx@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 4 hours ago

They'll false-flag or just start killing people. They don't need a reason anymore.

This whole "don't have violent protests because they'll declare martial law" is a psyop preparing people for martial law and pre-loading it with the assumption that when it does happen (and it will) it will be the fault of the protesters, despite evidence to the contrary.

Fascism 101 guys. Don't be a sucker.

[–] MightBeFluffy@pawb.social 9 points 5 hours ago

He doesn't need to try shit. Trump does what ever the fuck he wants. Both Congress and the courts just go along with it because apparently our founding fathers wanted the president to have absolute power. The deployment of the national guard and the Marines to LA is unequivocally illegal, but Trump did it anyway and the government dosen't seem to be in a hurry to remove the troops.

[–] III@lemmy.world 13 points 6 hours ago

Those fucking idiots only need a pointed finger and the word "liberal" to believe something is bad.

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 hours ago

We told you soooo~ :)

‘No Kings’ protest cities

So ... like all the cities?

[–] NutWrench@lemmy.world 17 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

ICE doesn't have enough people to intimidate a single blue city, let alone the country. They can't even operate in Los Angeles without the backup of a small number of National Guard and Marines and they're doing that illegal action over the governor's explicit objections.

ICE are a bunch of cowards, doing safe, comfortable hits in suburbs and on people who are complying with the law. (Immigration hearings and workplaces.)

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 13 points 6 hours ago

When I saw the pictures of the protests in multiple cities, I realized that ICE, law enforcement, and the military don't stand a chance. They might be able to wipe out one protest, maybe even 2 or 3, but they could never get them all, and it's likely they'd be spread so thin, they couldn't significantly impact any of them.

They have to be looking at the sizes of those protests, and getting worried. And they know there are plenty more at home. All they have is intimidation, the fear of violence, but now they know they are badly outnumbered, and the people know it, too.

Crackdowns on these cities is a sign of panic, and panic is very dangerous. Stay alert, Patriots.

This has kind of been the plan from the begining. He's trying to set metros to be in the position NYC was when he bought it for cheap.

COVID blaming cities, riots flamed to get people to move out and not want to be there. It's geo politics. Once it gets shitty enough he will just buy up property and market it to wealthy.

That's the game. Homies got his hustle. Mainstream or street it's all the same evil.

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 1 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago) (1 children)

we know ICE are less than 8k. As that’s all who attended the military parade if you’re not counting the geriatric and children who were dragged along to it

[–] RedditIsDeddit@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

We, as a people, can crush ICE.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 16 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Shouldn't he be focused on the G7?

[–] NutWrench@lemmy.world 20 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago) (1 children)

Trump already left G7 to supposedly "focus on the escalating Israeli-Iran conflict."

That's not the reason why he left. He's leaving early because he tried to hijack the G7 conference with his usual, personal grievance bullshit and to make the entire conference all about HIM, like he always does. But they weren't having it and they told him to go home and get his f*cking shine box. So now, he's leaving in a huff because they hurt his childish, rodentine feelings.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 6 points 8 hours ago

"Rodentine". I like that word and I'll be adding it to my repertoire. Thanks!

[–] Derpenheim@lemmy.zip 129 points 22 hours ago (3 children)

I screamed "No ICE in Wichita" for 4 hours, and Im willing to continue that stance with a bat.

[–] LeninOnAPrayer@lemm.ee 3 points 5 hours ago* (last edited 5 hours ago)

"Move ice! Get out the way! Get out the way ice, get out the way!"

The "move" part hits pretty hard when you got thousands of people hitting it together. That one was my favorite.

[–] Hasherm0n@lemmy.world 49 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I saw someone with the classic John f Kennedy quote "those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable" on a sign that was taped to a classic wooden bat. Probably my favor sign I've seen yet.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 6 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Eye catching, easy to carry, makes a memorable statement, and handy if things get froggy.

I like it, a lot.

[–] Auntievenim@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

If any terries on this here plane try getting froggy...

Stop payment of federal taxes

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 hours ago

Newsom is already threatening to do exactly that.

[–] Freshparsnip@lemm.ee 70 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Weren't the protests in pretty much every city in the country?

[–] DigitalNirvana@lemm.ee 8 points 8 hours ago

About 2100 locations, per Indivisible. So yeah, ICE gonna be spread thin, I guess.

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 52 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (7 children)

The best I saw reporting in was a town of 800 in deep red Trump country with a turnout of 400. Wish I could remember the town. Faiy certain it was a rey on Lemmy but may have been bluesky.

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 50 points 21 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

175 people showed up in Pulaski, TN. I live about an hour from there. That's where the KKK was founded. Deep as red gets (At least in my experience)

[–] AngryCommieKender@lemmy.world 14 points 18 hours ago

That's a solid 2% of the town

But don't you remember that time Biden said, "I want double, triple vaccinations in red states! They'll pay for calling COVID 'the flu'!" /s

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 65 points 23 hours ago

We’re already expecting the spite, personal attacks … even smaller places. My town is still pissed off from the last few weeks

  • masked thugs kidnapped a guy off the street and left his kid abandoned on the sidewalk (neighbors got him home)
  • other masked thugs roughed up and arrested a city councilor exercising his right to take videos from an appropriate distance
