The salute doesn't look quite as deliberately Nazi as Musk's. Particularly when he throws both hands from his heart, which is definitely not Nazi.
Also, Musk and his father are Nazi-adjacent, to put it mildly, salute notwithstanding.
But yeah, I can see how one might want to apply the same standard to both Musk and Booker here, for the sake of intellectual honesty.
At any rate, Booker really should have known better ☹️
I think it's just plausible deniability. The real global rulers knew he was signaling allegiance to them, despite his lying lips. And regular people would know too, if they stopped trying to excuse inexcusable actual actions.
What this shows me is what I've been saying for years: regardless of the letter by most politicians' names, their allegiance lies with Club Kleptocrat, and we're not in that club.
