Which was gained through protest. Just felt I'd add that because I hear, even from some women, that they don't know what good protest does. I don't understand how people can be so ignorant. Standing on the shoulders of those that came before them yet completely pissing on their head!
Honestly some of these folks need to rewatch Mary poppins just for exposure to .000001% of that movement.

Gained through protest in a completely different time, though.
Today, the establishment has much better tools at their disposal to delegitimize, vilify and ridicule even big protest movements through propaganda.
Which just makes protesting all the more important. A movement isn't going to move unless it gets proper recognition, and that doesn't happen via Internet messages and lawn-side signs.
