Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

JD Vance called for Democrats to reduce their ‘ridiculous and inflammatory political rhetoric’ as his running mate repeatedly calls Harris a ‘fascist’

CNN aired a powerful montage of Donald Trump calling Kamala Harris a "fascist" multiple times after his running mate JD Vance blasted Democrats for using the same word to refer to the former president.

The montage began with a snippet from Vance's Monday speech in Georgia. The Ohio Senator-turned-GOP vice presidential nominee called for Democrats to reduce the "ridiculous and inflammatory political rhetoric" days after an assassination attempt against Trump

the second in a matter of months.

Vance also said people shouldn't be talking about the end of Democracy when Trump literally talks about how there will be no more America if Harris gets elected on a regular basis. Including at the debate.

Byron Donalds, a black Republican Representative from Florida, said Democrats need to stop talking about Project 2025, a policy document created by hundreds of people who literally worked for Trump during his term, because it's "dangerous."

But he also thinks Trump calling Harris a communist dictator who literally wants to destroy America, take your guns, force everyone's children to undergo surgical sex reassignment surgery against their will, flood the country with millions of noncitizens so they can vote, among hundreds of other extreme and completely false accusations, are all perfectly fine and fair game.

They all know it's not consistent. They all know Trump's rhetoric is worse, but they see a cynical opportunity to gain a political advantage and they take it. Assholes.

Byron Donald's is full of shit, man.

The Democrats and Republicans agree that the world isn't fair. Idealistically, the Democratic response to that fact is trying to make things more fair (minimum wage increases, regulation and customer protections, social services, etc) while the Republican response is to exploit the unfairness for personal gain.

Similar montages were put up by late night talk shows. The problem is too many people that need to see this either won't, or will dismiss it with some BS argument.

Fox should be doing this too seeing as they are 'fair and balanced~tm~'

Fascist: accurately describing me and my führer is ridiculous and inflammatory!

Same fascist and his boss: Neoliberalism is fascism! Haitians are eating your pets! I haven't fucked any furniture today! The audience at the debate went wild!

Click on link. See no video. Close link.

Stop wasting my time.

Edit: Please disregard my comment OP, not your fault. As per below comment, it looks like the mentioned video is there, the website likely has geoblocking restrictions.

[–] Donut@leminal.space 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

The video is the first thing that comes up. Do you have any cookies blocked?

[–] oKtosiTe@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Tried two different browsers. Both just show a box with a small logo and no video. Maybe it’s location based?

[–] Affidavit@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

It's probably the website geoblocking content and OP is not at fault for posting a low-value article as I initially thought; my bad. I don't want to disincentive people posting legitimate content, so my previous comment was uncalled for.

[–] GiddyGap@lemm.ee 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't think Trump knows what that word means.

[–] Jiggle_Physics@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

He probably does, he probably also know that, for most people he is messaging towards, fascist, communist, and socialist, all mean the same thing, I don't like you.

[–] danc4498@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Is there a video? Or just an article about a video.

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I would love to see a reporter ask Trump to define what a fascist is

[–] BlackPenguins@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well, you see, it's what Kamala is. And it's very bad. Terrible for our country. We are a failing country because of it. So many people have come to me with tears in their eyes saying sir you need to protect us from her. It's a terrible thing.

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Trump posting on Lemmy?

[–] Zombifrog@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

Known liars lie about stuff, more at 10

[–] barsquid@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Fuck it wish it were ridiculous or inflammatory to describe Repubs as fascist.

[–] ripcord@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

So if this article actually links to the CNN video they've written the entire article about, I haven't found it yet.

Edit: should have read more comments, OP already linked to the video.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)
