T-72BZ β€” eliminated.
Work of the operators of the 53rd Brigade ΞœΞŸΞΞŸΞœΞ‘Ξ§ΞŸΞ£

Lyman direction

β–ͺ️The T-72BZ tank regularly emerged from cover to fire on our positions. It was identified by adjacent forces from the 81st Airmobile Brigade.

β–ͺ️Then it was a matter of execution. SIGNUM operators launched a drone, conducted additional reconnaissance, and located the shelter, the tank, and the ammo depot. Signs of activity β€” fresh tracks, compression marks, water β€” confirmed the position was active.

β–ͺ️The decision came quickly. One shaped charge β€” and that was it: detonation, fireball, ammo explosions.

Result:
– Tank destroyed;
– Ammo depot as well.
That T-72BZ won’t be rolling out again.

Precise. Effective. Daily.

Love it. It is really cool to see those explosions from a distance but to see the POV leading up to it is chefs kiss. Something about seeing all the ammo and equipment about to blow up.

Yes!, and the way the drone looks for best way in is pretty neat as well.

Drone warfare is insane. A small flying machine equipped with an explosive can cause massive damage for little cost. Those tanks don't come cheap. The landscape of anti-tank warfare has completely changed.

The whole landscape of warfare has changed.

And disturbing as fuck as well when you see how the IDF is using them in Gaza.

Fr. Tanks are nowadays seem to be used more as up-armoured mobile artillery.

There is quite a bit of that, but don't forget the videos that have circulated of one or two tanks stopping entire columns of IFV's and APC's.

Also in modern warfare, the tank is a devastating, well armoured and highly mobile system, that you need specialised equipment to take out. If you're taking line-of-sight fire from a tank, you probably don't have time to wait for a drone to come and hit it.

I do wonder how tanks will be upgraded to deal with small drones though. Just adding more topside armour probably isn't viable, but development of something (like TROPHY) probably already started around when top-attack weapons like the Javelin began proliferating.

I probably doesn't take much to make a hardkill-system be able to take on drones.

Perhaps closing the hatches might be a start.

I was wondering why they were circling around it when it's low-armor butt is right there. Then it zeroed in on the open hatch. Can't go lower than zero armor!

Maybe I've been watching too much Top Gear but I totally imagined a bunch of operators huddled around the screen with one going "what are you waiting for, hit it" and the other going "wait, no, what if they left it open".

It's gonna be crazy once police start using these on civilians.
