our congress in years past demanded oversight over our weapons systems from countries we sold to to prevent them falling into the wrong hands so it's in the contracts for all weapons systems we sell. just now though, it's abundantly clear that the wrong hands was our own and these strings attached contracts prevent countries from actually being able to use them effectively. the entire war in Ukraine has been a protracted series of examples of how Ukraine could have made strategic strikes against Russia's supply chains long ago but was shackled to unreasonable stipulations of how weapons were to be used by the us and the uk.

Why do we have to allow this shit? Fuck the Trump administration. Send them even if the US doesn't want it.

let's see how it goes after trump's boss has a word with him.

Trump has been much, much too friendly with Putin. However, even Trump seems increasingly pissed at him. For example two weeks ago there was news the US is sending a Patriot battery to Ukraine.

It does seem as if Trump is slowly starting to notice he was not a member of the "tough guy" club.

A cynical side of me wants to say that Australia is trying to get rid of equipment to justify a move to EU arms.

I just hope it continues. That and I hope congress starts to get mad at him. I keep wondering what happened to all the Regan Republicans I used to hear about so much. (interesting reading Regan's final speech and comparing to Trump - the two do not belong to the same system of beliefs.)
