[–] EffortlessEffluvium@lemm.ee 1 points 2 hours ago

What, were you hoping Leo would give you one last chance?

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 3 points 2 hours ago

Me, 45: is somebody whose life has been on a downward slide since 7, I'm with ya buddy.

[–] diemartin@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 hours ago

me👴irl

(Turned 37; I'm precambric or whatever you call it)

[–] MTK@lemmy.world 13 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Don't worry! It's only for 1 year and then you are done!

[–] oppy1984@lemm.ee 6 points 5 hours ago

41 here, I was there too. It's not that bad, just take care of yourself now. At your age I ate fast food, never exercised, and basically lived on caffeine, nicotine, and stress endorphins from working all the time. Now at my last check up, I'm overweight, my knees are shot, my back hurts all the time, and I have chronic acid reflux.

You are young enough that you can get a head start on aging, what you should do daily is exercise, eat healthy, and take some personal time/mental health time for yourself everyday to reduce stress. You don't want to end up like me and be facing a huge uphill battle to get healthy.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 13 points 7 hours ago* (last edited 7 hours ago)

Ok let's trade ages. I'll take being 25 and you get to be 40.

[–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago

If it makes you feel any better, the age you are right now is the youngest you'll ever be.

[–] Whateley@lemm.ee 6 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

I remember 25. I still felt alive and didn't have chronic pain randomly appearing in various parts of my body.

[–] oppy1984@lemm.ee 1 points 5 hours ago

Praise saint ibuprofen.

[–] hansolo@lemm.ee 18 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

Child, please.

Enjoy those knees while you can.

My brain broke a bit the first moment I realized that, if I had a kid the same age my mom had me (early 20s), that child would be over 21.

[–] hansolo@lemm.ee 3 points 5 hours ago

Yeah, doing a same parallel tracking, I would have a 13 year old. shudder

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 8 points 9 hours ago

While I'm not old enough to have a 25 year old kid yet I do think my 30's have been better so far than my 20's were!

[–] WeirdGoesPro@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

I’d literally suck the youth out of 25 year olds like a vampire to be 25 again.

[–] frezik@midwest.social 2 points 6 hours ago

TIL Peter Thiel has a Lemmy account.

[–] ArtemisimetrA@lemm.ee 8 points 9 hours ago

Ah yes, the old quarter-century crisis. We got another one here, Bob, send em the welcome package. (The welcome package is multi-vitamins and sore knees)

[–] Moonweedbaddegrasse@lemm.ee 98 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

I'm 60 in 4 months so I have 0 sympathy.

[–] errer@lemmy.world 53 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

“Oh noooo my prefrontal cortex is fully developed!”

[–] SkyeStarfall@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 12 hours ago (3 children)

As you grow you will keep appreciating the growing amounts of personal development

Eventually you think back to when you were worried about turning 25 and you'll think "why would I ever wanna be 25 again? I had so much less knowledge and experience back then"

[–] Monstrosity@lemm.ee 8 points 12 hours ago

Then you shake yourself back into reality & remember, "...oh yeah, because I was hot & my dick worked."

[–] 418_im_a_teapot@sh.itjust.works 5 points 11 hours ago (9 children)

~ 35 is definitely golden era … at least for men. Old enough to be in control of your body and emotions, but still young enough to have spontaneous energy.

Boohoo. I'm going to be 32 and my knees hurt.

[–] Bonsoir@lemmy.ca 23 points 12 hours ago

You better enjoy it 'cause it's not coming back once you turn 26.

[–] LaunchesKayaks@lemmy.world 12 points 11 hours ago (2 children)

Me except I'll be 28 in 2 months. People constantly remind me how I'm getting closer to 30.

Like stop pls. I didn't sign up for this whole aging thing and it sucks

[–] FourWaveforms@lemm.ee 4 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

30s is the best decade tbh, anyone who says otherwise is a government spy

[–] eager_eagle@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 6 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Eh, I'm actually in my 30's. It's quite nice!

[–] Zess@lemmy.world 3 points 5 hours ago

I can't believe you would lie on the Internet.

[–] Mok98@feddit.it 45 points 14 hours ago

It's okay it only lasts a year

[–] FourWaveforms@lemm.ee 3 points 8 hours ago

Wait until you turn 25 for the second time

[–] Jayk0b@lemm.ee 37 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Next year I'm gonna be 30, I'm already browsing some nice coffins and Urns

[–] totallyNotARedditor@lemm.ee 11 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

This is the best time for you to start reading about lower back pain and how to take care of your spine

[–] Bytemeister@lemmy.world 7 points 11 hours ago

Also a good time to give up vanity for comfort. Wear flipflops with socks. Buy a travel squatty potty and take it everywhere in its branded bag.
