“Progressive values” - do they even read the new testament? Compassion is the overt message of the Jesus they claim to follow.
They follow supply side Jesus, the prosperity gospel, and gravitate towards passages that they can use as a cudgel on people who are ew gross yucky to them.

I’ve posted this before but they don’t get to say “not my pope” they don’t get a vote. That’s the reality of faith based leaderships.
I was sooooooo fed up with MAGA Catholics telling me if I wasn’t down with the Opus Dei right wing bullshit during JP2 then I wasn’t really Catholic.
It has been much nicer since we have had Popes focused on creating a better world rather than capitulating to the demands of Eastern Orthodoxy.
