The only positive for this election is that the conservatives totally tanked their lead by supporting the states, which means Canada hasn’t totally lost its fucking mind yet.

It's all about the silver lining

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah. I wish Alberta would have an election like today so we could get our shitty premier out of here.

[–] southernbeaver@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Do Albertans actually want her out though? I'm in Quebec and she does sound batshit crazy.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 3 points 10 months ago

She didn’t win by a lot and the pro America rhetoric is damaging her a lot more than you’d expect here.

There's a lot of insane people voting for insane conservatives.

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 7 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah fuck each of them. At least they will be neutralized for the foreseeable future in parliament. If Carney does well, ie. people experience tangible improvements in their lives esp young people and we don’t get invaded by the US, he will be re-elected. If he fails at that we will prob have someone far worse then Polievre in 2029.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I have no faith in the liberals creating any radical positive change. In four years we will have someone worse than PP as PM.

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

JFC but who knows what will happen, Carney could be a wartime PM if the US invades. Literally anything could happen. This is where we’re at tbh. If they don’t invade then he has to move on those big changes he promised. Otherwise it’s buh-bye. And some Maga POS like smooth brain Jamil Javani leading the cons. Why did cancer take Jack Layton and not a fuckwhit like Javani.

[–] TribblesBestFriend@startrek.website 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

My Conspi friend text me after that it was clear that the conservative were going to loose : you was right Tribble, we’re now in a dictatorship. No Joke

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Riiiiiiiiiiight. JFC since when are minority govts a “dictatorship”

🤡♾️

[–] TribblesBestFriend@startrek.website 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Right ! How could you believe that Carney will start a dictatorship. Seriously I can not understand how the conservative mind works

"Accusation In A Mirror"

Rightwing propagandists do this constantly, because it works. By saying all the things about "the liberals" that they know the liberals are going to say about them, it just sounds to anyone not paying attention that "both sides" are calling each other the same things. Drowning out the signal with noise.

And by ensuring they are the ones to say those things first and loudest, the fascist side gets to control the narrative, and even make it look like it's the other side doing a "No, U!"
