[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 week ago

ahhh, the "conservative who identifies as a comedian mk8 the same joke 50 times" version of the onion?

[–] [email protected] 61 points 1 week ago (4 children)

[–] [email protected] 44 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Memes are memes, why are you subscribed to a meme page if you don't like memes

Because they cannot/don't want to read. Or they just don't care

Right-wing version of The Onion.

[–] [email protected] 25 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Wait.... So their version of a joke is to.... Make a joke at their own expense because of how shitty Vance is?

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They are more traditional right, not MAGA right. They make fun of the Republican party all the time.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh? Glorious glorious juicy infighting.

The pot: No, YOU'RE black!

The other pot: No, you're black.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

We're all black on this blessed day!

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Fuck knows, honestly. I'm not American so I don't even try to claim to understand Republicans.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I'm American, and me neither. It's honestly still such a mystery to me that I do think about quite often.

The best that I can come up with is that it's a mixture of a culture of oppression through a cycle of psychological abuse that they've grown to be proud and belligerent to perpetuate, deeply profound ignorance, and a unique emphasis on faith and its taboo of critical thought; all amounting to a society with a stagnation of free will and progress.

Of course, that is a amalgamation or conglomeration of a wide spectrum of archetypes of people, liberals and non Americans included. It's a survival instinct and a cope in almost all cases.

Finding people even conceptually aware of this earthly prison is rare, and finding a person with both an awareness and a plan to bring us above it AND the power to bring it to fruition AND the drive to do so... hasn't happened yet.

Also with a Christian slant if I recall correctly

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The Onion but by Christian conservatives.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 week ago

They were pretty funny when they got started. They would openly roast Joel Osteen and all the Prosperity Gospel crap. Then they decided to wade into politics. And misogyny. So much misogyny.

Technically it’s a post of guy putting a Babylon Bee headline on someone else’s page, now screen shot to yours.

[–] [email protected] 36 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It took me 10 seconds to realize this was a joke, and another 10 to get the joke.

I don't like this timeline

Smart move, JD would've sucked that old man's tongue right out of his head.

I still haven't been able to wrap my head around that event. It makes me want to vomit.

In light of the Dalai's earlier pronouncement that his successor would be female, the administration has promised him immortality.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

But... isn't the gist that his successor is himself?

🏳️‍⚧️

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

The gist is that his successor isn't whoever the Chinese Communist Party says it is (either directly or by trotting our that kid they kidnapped decades ago who hasn't been seen since).

Nirvana does not care for the mortal body limitations. Enlightenment is universal.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Tell that to Buddhists, especially Tibetan Buddhists which explicitly discriminate against women and claim they will never reach enlightenment.

[–] [email protected] 10 points 1 week ago

Exactly why they themselves haven't reached enlightenment. Too concerned with being petty of others instead of untangling the self.

Have people forgot already the "suck my tongue" pedo shit this guy pulled out?

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 week ago (3 children)

No, I definitely remember when the mainstream media jumped at the chance to smear one of the most peaceful spiritual figures alive, context be damned. They took a culturally unfamiliar moment and ran it through a Western lens to manufacture outrage. And look, they're still collecting dividends on it!

That does sound like something the Dalai Lama would say.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It is a cultural difference slightly taken out of context. Albeit it is incredibly jarring for Americans and other European countries. He did issue an apology for it.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Go on ...

This is a perfectly normal thing in Tibetan culture?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Sort of. According to residents who defended him they said it is a normal joke that elderly people to do children in Tibet.

By the way why the pope even accepted (he or someone of his entourage) to meet with JD Vance?

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

He doesn't want to die yet.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago

Dalai is finding himself some Necrotic damage resist gear first.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

Flashbacks to Assassin's Creed 2 where you fistfight with the Pope.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago

I dunno, if he keeps missing appointments like this it'll reflect on his performance review
