Tesla (TSLA) announced worse-than-expected first-quarter earnings and revenue late Tuesday. Shares of TSLA were little changed in after-hours trade as investors await Chief Executive Elon Musk's comments on the conference call and the "company update."

That’s the neat thing about FSD, you can pick any year you want and find Elon saying it will arrive then.

FSD N+1 {current _year}

Have you tried it lately? It's very close to zero interventions.

Do you remember those Wylie Coyote and Roadrunner cartoons?

Tesla got rid of lidar and other sensors in the FSD codebase. Until all Teslas get retrofitted with the HW4 compute units and upgraded cameras, I would prefer people to leave it off and just use automatic cruise and lane assist.

I sent a full list of a useful search with many articles including the followups you posted. So yes, I read the follow up stories. All of them conclude the HW4 is necessary for FSD.

Also, it's not just walls that are being hit.

Edit: HW4 is necessary for safe FSD. Not just FSD to run, apologies for the miscommunication.

If you read the articles, then you know there's been a never-ending series of hit pieces from people with connections to the LIDAR industry.

For the computer, I'm not talking about articles, I'm talking about personal, daily experience with a model y with HW3 and a model 3 with HW4. I can't find any difference at all between the two. HW3 might be doomed, but so far they are able to keep it level with HW4.

And on FSD's progress itself, there's perhaps one real intervention per week now. It's not done, but six to twelve months looks possible now.

In those articles a Tesla Model Y would not stop but a Cybertruck would. The difference is cameras and HW3/4. Same FSD version same driver similar conditions. I've also edited the post you replied to.

Most important bit IMHO: "Chief Executive Elon Musk kicked off the Q1 earnings call discussing his work at DOGE for President Donald Trump. "Starting next month, in May, my time allocation to DOGE will drop significantly."

"Starting next month I will be allocating far more of my time to Tesla," Musk said.

But he still expects to work a day or two a week on government work, as long as President Trump wants him, perhaps throughout Trump's term."

"Starting next month I will be allocating far more of my time to Tesla," Musk said.

I cannot fathom why the market would consider this a good thing.

He'll induce a lot less rage in their core demographic

TBH that ship may have passed

[–] Bell@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

He has seriously alienated alot of people, maybe as much as 20% might refuse to consider Tesla now solely because of the DOGE insanity.
