If we want more people to migrate here from Reddit, we must make this platform feel sturdy enough to avoid the feelings of joining a fringe group. It also helps the apps avoid being buried under other ones with similar names in the results. Someone said they searched for the Thunder app only to find the vpn one, causing them to give up in joining in that session.

Also I saw someone criticize the Voyager app for only having 33 reviews on the appstore page saying they’re “unsure of using it” because of that relatively low number.

I have personally wrote reviews for 3 Lemmy apps detailing what I liked about them.

But it was also funny how when later in the exchange I provided them with 3 direct links to Thunder the same guy responded saying they still "didn't want to do it right now" It's really like trying to move mountains with some people no matter how much you spoon feed them.

Good reminder!

Hell, try all of them and review.

Be honest, be fair, you don't have to give good reviews for stuff that sucks, but the more evaluations out there, the better newcomers are going to be able to enter the lemmy community as a whole smoother.

Thanks for the call out and reminder. I put a review for my app of choice (Summit for Lemmy android).

Also if you have video editing skills consider do a video / short video. That would help too.

Having more Lemmy tutorials on Peertube would be amazing.

Their behaviour is largely explained by being in the corporate sandbox. If they faced the same accountability as here they would clean up their behaviour real fast.

Also I want the foss developers to be rewarded for their hard work.

The developers behind your instance are not being funded enough, they're at 0.6/3 devs funded. Please speak instead of using reaction gifs.

I don't get my Lemmy apps from a store like the Play Store, but if I did I would absolutely leave a review. I only get them from Github with Obtainium.

[–] Sunshine@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You can still review the same apps from the web version of Playstore using the computer.

[–] Draconic_NEO@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I can? I was under the impression I had to download them once before reviewing them.

You're probably right in that case.
