I feel like the middle of an active fascist coup that is rounding up dissidents into concentration camps is not the time to start restricting citizen's right to bear effective arms. He better be careful, because Republicans might just vote for it for the wrong reasons.

While Republicans rip away rights and ruin the well-being of Americans, Democrats busy themselves making it more and more illegal for Americans to defend themselves when push comes to shove. It really is two hands from the same body.

This smells like a dead on arrival bill that just exists so that during re-election season Senate supporters can point to it and say they tried to do something.
The bill is obviously unconstitutional and has no chance of passing in a Republican Congress. So of course it's a good idea
The transparent nature of trying to end run around having to call it a semi-auto ban is frustrating. Gas operation is framed as something particularly heinous and the writers hope everyone just starts chanting in support. If it ever got passed (it won't I know) you just know the same people would push for recoil operation to be covered, because of course that's the dream.
Basically the same legislation that Colorado just passed.
H&K roller-lock guns, Benelli inertia shotguns, and basically all PCCs:
