Possibly my favorite thing about starfield was the realistic take they had on this exact issue lol

Nobody has phones bc you can't just send a text to someone in the next star system. It's literally faster to fly there with a warp drive and hand deliver a message.

A very neat detail that fits in nicely with the RPG element of having to be a courier half the time. It's kinda crazy to think we are already having this problem irl.
