As well as talking about guerilla animal releases, this article talks about lots of amazing community rewilding action. I highly recommend it for an uplifting read!

If it has been a storyline in The Archers, then this is a big deal.

In the past few months, there have been two suspected lynx releases and one of feral pigs in a small area of the Cairngorms, along with reports of a rise in “beaver bombing” on England’s rivers, and wild boar roaming Dartmoor.

These acts may have Robin Hood appeal, but the rearing and release of large mammals goes some way beyond the well-established phenomenon of “guerrilla gardening”

I am curious as to the identity of these people as they are breeding large mammals for (unauthorised) release and that is not a simple undertaking.

I've wondered about that too.
