Since last August, Australia has baked through above-average temperatures and the BOM is predicting another winter of unseasonable heat.

Yeah, just wait until the Australian electorate has a brain fart and let's Sky News convince them to vote in spud head. He will get right on to climate change by "nuclear-ifying"* our power grid.

^ * "nuclear-ifying" is a term of art that should not be interpreted to mean any actual progress will be made towards nuclear power generation. Expect to see increased demand placed on coal and gas power plant, all hail Gina. Spoken and authorised by the Liberuhal Party... Oh and /s so it's not elecgion interference ^

You remember when we were kids and our parents would yell at us for leaving the door open on the fridge or a door open when the air con was going and said " What do you want to do, cool the whole planet?"....

Maybe we should have ignored them.

Heat pumps as in fridges and air-conditioning just move heat around. While doing so they always generate heat. So basically you can't cool the planet with a fridge, only heat it up more.
