For every Tesla that is sold, a Tesla is bought. That's just how selling works. It's a zero-sum game. Who is this supposed to help?

That's incorrect, if you sell a used Tesla, that is a new car sale that Musk misses out on and it devalues his cars. Not to mention that people don't want to go past protestors to buy or service their car which also impacts sales.
