I’ve learned that OG Luddites were not against new technology, they were against technology that disproportionately enriches the owner class. The common usage today was meant to discredit the Luddites as being against technological progress. I’ve been in tech most of my career, and I kind of want to take back the term.
Probably more jobs, and certainly less health compromising jobs, in solar and wind. I think Luddites would not support investing in coal, versus renewables.

Except that in about a decade climate changes will already be so bad that even the staunchest denier today can't deny reality anymore, but by then it'll be way too late for that realization and at least we can update Trump's Wikipedia with the fact that he ended humanity, right before we all die fron hunger, storms, heatstroke, lack of water, or economic collapse.
Such a happy timeline we're all in, yay!
There are ex-parents of dead kids in Texas who are saying they’re glad they didn’t vaccinate their kids because they don’t trust what’s in vaccines. To their dying breath they’ll deny reality, because their lead addled brains can’t even contemplate the idea that they might be wrong about anything.
I’m not trying to be an ass to you, so please don’t take offense at this, but I want to kindly suggest that you’re being a little too optimistic about the ability of these people to reflect on their mistakes.
