Sometimes we have those little epiphanies in the shower.. sometimes they come from other places. This is a home for those epiphanies.

The one guy I knew who owned a Hummer2 was about 6 foot 9 inches tall and weighed about 400 pounds.

When he got out of that thing it looked like a regular sized guy getting out of Camry.

The H2 was everything the original was not. The original was based on the military vehicle, that idea was based on "wouldn't it be cool if our transport killed us less frequently than the enemy". Older Jeeps rolled over a lot .

So you got a wider wheelbase, and other things like higher driveline. That's why you had that huge transmission hump between driver and shotgun.

The H2 is just a GMC truck with a body kit. The original Meal Team Six vehicle.

They were both trash vehicles that had no place on the street. They were a danger to their own drivers as well as everyone else unfortunate enough to share the road with them. They had among the worst stopping distance and acceleration in memory. The H1 did 0-60. Eventually. It was something like 20 seconds as I recall. And it took nearly a football field to stop from that speed.

did it drive like an actual humvee? everyone i know that's been in the military says they were a nightmare to drive on pavement. one of them said a small amount of rain would have them sliding all over the place.

Nah the H2 drives like a Tahoe. Very consumer-friendly

I've never been in an H2. It really is just a standard chassis with a boxy body kit, I would think it would drive like the base vehicle.

Meal Team Six

Perfect

I have no opinion on the machine. I just said it fit my buddy.

I love that the cybertruck has become this biggest soyboi cuck status symbol ever. "Giga chads" spent over $100k to buy being the meme they hate the most.

That new electric hummer is pretty sweet though

Wait, what? Electric Hummer? My mind is blown.

I drive a tiny car now, but when I was a teenager I thought Hummers were the coolest, except for how much fuel they burned.

I'm impressed, but also at that price I might have to live in it. Luckily it's big enough to live in. 🤣

The battery for the electric Hummer weighs more than an entire Prius.

That's like saying shitting yourself made pissing your pants less embarrassing.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 days ago

I think not being Nazi piss OR shit matters.

It's a bit like Florida being glad Alabama exists.

Someone Americas.

"at least it's not a cybertruck... I guess" seems like a great mic drop

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Like if I got offered a cheap Hummer now, Id probably drive it for the lulz for a while.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Id just park it, and make a fake plate with a funny self demeaning message on it

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Cover it in "Coexist" stickers and other "Woke" sentiments then join a Hummer club or some shit.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

Lmao that's perfect
Add a trump sticker for maximum "wtf"

Not to me. My sister owned one and was so estatic on how safe it made her feel with her kids. yeah safe for her kids.

Save your child from child crushing machines by putting them in a larger child crushing machine.

Regular Car Reviews had some genuine signature insight on this…

I actually think it's fun now that electric vehicles are picking up that we can now have ridiculous cars like the Hummer again. I remember when the Hummer was popular and people would buy them and then quickly realize it wasn't worth the gas it would suck down. My uncle had the same realization with the jeep wrangler around the same time. But now more of these cars are electric so you can get your big beefy weefy mobile and not have to worry so much about the gas anymore. As much as I wouldn't get one myself, I welcome the return of the Hummer.

The Hummer EV is an interesting beast. 6-figure price tag and similarly sized to the Rivian R1S. I've yet to see one on the road, but it certainly feels less problematic than the gas-guzzling version.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 days ago

There's always the higher tire particulate contribution to the microplastics problem, which is supposedly much worse depending on vehicle weight, which is also worse because electric vehicle batteries are heavy

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

The EV Jeep Wrangler is also interesting. They advertise it much different than I'm used to seeing most electric vehicles advertised. Instead of focusing on being environmentally friendly, not using gas, or being a tech-forward car they instead advertise that you can maximize power output to all wheels while off-roading. But I suppose this is just the natural progression of the electric car... Start niche and then expand.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

You had me excited there for a moment that a fully EV Wrangler had dropped, but it's only a plug-in hybrid. :(

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 days ago

Apologies, you're correct the Wrangler is a plug-in hybrid and the Wagoneer is the electric model.
