And replace them by whom? And where does he plan to get those screws from in the first place? They are made in China, after all.

As if American manufacturing (outside of Boeing/ other assembly companies) don't operate like it's the 1980's still.

Half the coworkers in my light manufacturing factory will get viruses at home because they "click the wrong green button".

Robotics requires both technical work and domain expertise in a given field. There is relatively Little venture capital for the scope of the problem robotics represents. Generally businesses in America are too focused on quarterly shareholder value to do meaningful robotics research.

Can they be automated? Sure. Nvidia makes great simulation tech (eg: isaac). But the culture is so backwards in both, these two industries are oil and water.
