As USMCA negotiations proceed apace and the US Supreme Court rules against Trump’s tariffs, it’s likely better to think of Carney’s market diplomacy as an expensive bluff, anticipating continental reintegration and on preferential terms.

Except that Trump isn't backing down on tariffs, and it's looking more and more likely that CUSMA will be scrapped as soon as the review process begins, so that Trump can add even more tariffs to Canadian goods.

What we are watching in the US, is the unmistakable rise of a fascist regime, with the intent of putting the entire Western Hemisphere under its control. If Canada doesn't increase its military capabilities now, before things get rolling...there won't be an opportunity afterwards.

I find it a little weird that so many "Socialist" articles are ignoring the painfully obvious fascist threat that is right next door, and insisting that the correct course of action is to simply do nothing to counter it. What the fuck?
