Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Nah, Elite Force was a Trek-themed shooter, which just ain't right. A "story-driven survival strategy" game makes far more sense.

Honestly, the best Trek game would be one that had no combat at all.

I was thinking of an adventure game, like a modern version of Judgement Rites, but that sounds great too!

Bottle Episode: The Game

"Ugh! This is taking forever!"

"What's wrong babe?"

"I'm just having trouble with this report."

"When did your restaurant start making waiters write reports?"

"What? Oh, no. It's for this new game. I have to be in the captain's ready room by 1700. If this status report on the anomaly isn't spot on, it's my ass. I do not want to get knocked down to ensign again."

"Oh, okay. Well, you have fun."

"Aaaaargh! A surge in the plasma conduits wiped out my report! I'm going to have to start all over." [Sobbing]

Make the setting Lower Decks and I'm in!

That does sound like a good idea, but I'm disinclined to trust you based on my experiences in zork.

How I wish there was an FTL style Star Trek rogue like with minimal combat and mostly just choices and exploration.

That's pretty much what Voyager Across the Unknown is. The demo is pretty limited but now what it's out, we'll find out more.

It is out. We know more.

it's wild how many early computer games were star trek games and yet seemingly all of them were shooty shooty pew pew, going all the way back to 1971. at least the arcade game had the tact to call it a simulation!

I agree that shooters don’t fit star trek but i adored walking around the ship myself.

Yeah, I think the adventure genre is the best fit for Trek games. TNG: A Final Unity, ST: Judgment Rites, ST: 25th Anniversary, and ST: Resurgence are all excellent, imo.

I enjoyed the Elite Force games back in the day, and I'm sure I'll pick up this Voyager game and try it at some point, but I doubt it will capture that feeling of being in an interactive episode of Trek, the way those games do.
