Hey y'all! So we are changing phone providers and they are forcing us into getting a new phone. I have an s23 which I hate anyway, and can get a pixel 9 or 10 now. I want the 9 since it seems better for me.

My question is, should I install graphene on it right away? I don't wanna have to reset it again down the road. And I don't care about warranties, if it dies I can afford another one.

Graphene seems to support the 9 and 10 from what I'm seeing

Edit Did some reading , it appears the at&t pixel 9 does have an unlocked boot loader ? Is it true ??

Unfortunately have no choice. Its a family plan and they are changing carriers. If I don't switch it will double my bill. Ugh. Yeah its from at&t...family is not privacy concious or tech literate so I sound like a crazy person if I explain any of this.

There's no reason you should have to change your phone just because you changed carriers, unless its already carrier-locked. I just did this a couple of weeks ago.

If it is, then consider that you're probably going to be stuck in this loop of constantly buying shitty new phones. You should be able to pay it off and get it unlocked, if that's possible. Then look at some MVNOs, they often have much better pricing. Metro PCS, Visible, Mint, etc. There's also some affordable privacy-friendly carriers like JMP.chat, Cape, Phreeli, SimXL, silent.link, etc.

If you just get another carrier-locked device, it's a moot point, so you don't have to worry about it.

I told em nope I'm keeping my phone. My imei said my phone works fine with at&t. Then I'll get an ebay pixel later.
