I'm not a die hard Fallout show lover, especially with how they've kind of made it so none of your choices in the game mattered. But I gotta say... this scene was very hype. Exactly the kind of thing I wanted to see when they said season 2 would be set in New Vegas.

While I felt the moment was earned and made a lot of sense, I still impulsively cringed when it happened. I feel icky whenever nostalgia bait is put front and center even if it's done well. I felt similarly about the "Big Iron" scene in episode 1. It made a lot of sense and was well done, but it was too on the nose for my tastes. Thankfully, everything else was done fairly well with the finale.

This is mainly what's been irking me about the show. Lots of things we know to keep us watching.

It sucks bc so many of the references feel far more natural, especially in the first season. Like yes, they had recognizable Fallout stuff, but that's just the setting. This season had way more "Leo pointing meme" moments because it was a location the games visited recently.

I enjoyed that one too, but I understand. Tbh I think this season could have been better if they never decided to take it to New Vegas, preferred the more standalone nature of season 1
