Imagine being the world's first trillionaire but everyone still thinks you're a loser.

I'm more impressed that the world's richest person is so overtly, obviously miserable beyond words.

There's a reason other super-wealthy people keep their head down, they don't want to be judged while also having more privilege than anyone else who ever lived. Not Musk, he just comes out on camera like he's been up crying all night, grumbles some pathetic 4-chan clapback at a imagined enemies and then acts like he just won a reddit argument, earns the ire of millions and then goes back to the shadows to roll around in his money-bin while tweeting insults to strangers.

Meanwhile I've lost everything in life, I've buried people close to me and burned down my past figuratively and literally and have survived the depths of addiction and despair and crawled back into the light and am still making plans for my future... but I know well enough to be gracious to others and to help others and at least smile at strangers.

My dude there hasn't had to worry about having his electricity shut off once in his entire life, he's never stayed up crying all night because he can't afford to take his dying pet to be humanely treated at a vet. He's never done everything in his power to fight something unfair and still be left with nothing. He's not known a goddamn INCH of actual hardship outside of what demons live in his head, and he still looks down on everyone else in the world, while also desperately, painfully seeking their acceptance.

Just think of all those wasted resources hoarded to fill that void where normal people have empathy and experience being human. It will never fill. It will just needlessly suck all the resources and wealth and he'll still be chasing a dragon he never saw.

Meanwhile, everyone else struggles and misses out on a fulfilling life because they're exhausted from working for nothing or working too much. We really should exterminate every one of them.

Narcissism in a nutshell. His buddy Trump is the same way.

That's what really strikes me as well.

I've had an odd life. I've struggled with the demons in my head, I've buried loved ones, I've slept in my car in a Midwestern winter, and I've also thrived beyond what many do in lots of my adulthood. So I feel comfortable saying that he needs someone with his best interests in mind in charge of him while he undergoes a few years of therapy. Also he needs fully off social media, traditional media, and to be away from the toxic groups he's been a part of.

He's being tormented by his isolation that he himself created and his ego. He clearly still has a lot of trauma from his father, and a lot of cultural baggage from his country of origin. At the end of the day, this is a man who abandoned his family when he got "trophy wife" rich and abandoned his daughter when she turned out not like he wanted, yet he still posits himself a great family man while trying to maximize number of children rather than trying to spend good time with them or raise them.

One cannot be happy spending all their time at home alone posting on social media, it doesn't matter if that home is a spartan apartment, a single family dwelling, an enormous estate, or a genuine castle. This is one of the biggest lessons of the past 20 years

[–] Seleni@lemmy.world 2 points 4 hours ago

TBF his family are also super-rich white-supremacist pieces of shit, so he probably learned a bunch of this at home.

[–] notwhoyouthink@lemmy.zip 9 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Looks like Musk wants to be like dear leader, and is shitting himself publicly too.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 3 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

He is so fucking pissed he wasn't born in this country.

[–] hector@lemmy.today 6 points 7 hours ago

He would likely be our next president if he was born here so count yourself lucky(er, ish) on that point. Another untold horror awaits us instead.
