Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

Big shocker...ANOTHER Trump ally wanted to rape kids. Please...JUST STOP! These people will never face justice because they run the country now. Even so-called "left wing echo chambers" like Reddit will perma-ban you for saying that these monsters should face anything harsher than a slap on the wrist. I was banned for saying that there should be capital punishment AFTER legal trials because "That's violent!" No shit. The latest Epstein files are reporting not only child rape but child murder... but that's okay, because they didn't say anything bad on social media about hurting anyone! This country is sick and its dying...and I'm sick and tired of seeing these people get away with it. America died in 2016. The corpse just hasn't stopped twitching.
America contracted a terminal disease in 1971, at the business roundtable.
Wasn't there a conspiracy theory that Ghislaine was a reddit mod/admin?
You’re right about the Trump allies being terrible, but you’re wrong about America.
This country’s so great that it has maintained its top status despite Donald Trump. We’re about to go to the moon, again. Call me when any other country even lands a human there once.
What's the benefit of landing a human on the moon again? And why do you care so deeply about it?
Human achievement is something to be proud of, no matter which nation-state one hails from. The Apollo program was a triumphant achievement of ingenuity that spawned many important ancillary technologies and industrial applications, especially in aeronautics, computer science, and diagnostic medicine worldwide. Our understanding of our planet's moon, our solar system, and the greater cosmos and the exploration thereof are noble pursuits.
It's understandable to want to express pride at being from the country that accomplished this aeronautical feat. Whereas, someone from Russia would want to celebrate Yuri Gagarin and Valentina Terashkova, the first man and woman in space, respectively. Someone from Ohio would perhaps be happy to share their heritage with John Glenn.
It's a problem when people lord the achievements of those who share their national or ethnic heritage over others as a cheap way to score points in an argument, but, in a general sense, space exploration is important for scientific and technical development of our species.
To answer your second question, I personally care about the moon landing because I want humanity to reach a Type 2 civilization on the Kardashev Scale. The Apollo program was one small step on that road, and it reminds me of humanity at its best.
(1) the benefits of human space exploration and colonization are obvious
(2) there’s one, singular nation-state that has accomplishments in that regard, and it’s the especially advanced nation-state that was disparaged above
(3) typing “why do you care so deeply about it?” is a profoundly asinine, sad, trolling statement that indicates you likely don’t care adequately about anything
If it's so obvious you're probably easily able to name one or two.
Also I am not sure if colonizing or exploring the moon is equivalent to exploring or colonizing space. I'd argue that the ISS was more what space exploration would look like in real life, as most of the time, humand would be traveling in ships, not having a walk on a satellite.

I see. Hope things get better for you.
