Americans aren't going to do shit about it
Man, I see this hot take pop up repeatedly, and it's so easy to say from the outside. Americans are doing things. Why do you think the fascist pigs just murdered another person? Beccause he was doing something. There were crowds of thousands of people marching in protest in Minneapolis today. What's the next step in "doing something" to you?
America is a large country, where most of the states are as large or larger than most European countries. People are organizing locally, because that's what they can do. Labor strikes are great, but there are no protections for that in this country. Many employers can fire employees at any time for any reason. Paid time off is not guaranteed, healthcare is not guaranteed. State governments typically do not provide those benefits, and the federal government does not provide those benefits. People striking risk losing their jobs, homes, and healthcare, and many cannot afford to go without income for any period of time without risking homelessness or being unable to affort basic necessities. People are so ground down from the burden of simply existing in this environment.
So what's the next step? I'm truly, genuinely asking, what can Americans actually do about a federal government that is utterly poisoned from the inside?

Thank you. It's disgusting how popular and accepted it is to shit on Americans for being oppressed. And repeating the tired lie that Americans are doing and have done nothing.
I think you need more of those black panther type people. The protestors far outnumber ICE in the city. If only half of them carried guns openly, I think ICE would be much more hesitant to go after people like this. They would always have to factor in the risk of someone randomly starting fire, just like US citizens currently have to factor in the risk of law enforcement suddenly shooting them for no reason.
I mean, you are right. It has probably already gone too far. The American population has been carefully manoeuvred into this situation deliberately by the people in power to ensure they are oppressed and inert. "I can't go on strike for the greater good of the people around me because I will lose my job and my healthcare" is exactly what they wanted people to feel.
I don't know how to "fix" this, this is the fruits of the labour of decades of work by conservatives. Maybe if things get so bad that the people are pretty much forced into a bloody revolution or civil war then that might lead to change. But that would require the army to by and large side with the people, of course. Otherwise any uprising would get squashed.
