Being incapable of separating suffering civilians from a fascist regime is myopic, tribalist, and only helps perpetuate more of the attitude that caused the US to be in the situation it is now.
Nazis killed innocent Germans first. Most of the world didn't give a shit until they had solidified power enough at home to target other nations.
I was born in Germany. I was there when the Berlin wall came down. That history was real for me.
Our arbitrary borders mean nothing when we are all facing the global threat of fascism.
I'm not saying they should be unable to seperate just that they shouldn't be expected to while their lives and home are actively being threatened.
