I don't follow football so I didn't know this and it cracks me up. Japan and South Korea also did the World Cup together and it made sense because of their geographical circumstances. The USofA not being able to host on their own is comical (and that's on top of the question of who tf even wants to go there right now).

Edit: regarding the 2002 WC, Wikipedia says: "FIFA has said that co-hosting is not likely to happen again, and in 2004 officially stated that its statutes did not allow co-hosting bids.[7][8] This policy has since been overturned as the 2026 World Cup will be hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico, and Canada." Excellent show, lads.

Just tells you that the US is behind schedule and that Mexico and Canada should have been conquered by now. Another thing Russia spoiled with their war in Ukraine. /s

It's not that the USA can't host its own. It has already done that before. It's more that multi-country things are apparently in favour at FIFA right now, for some reason.
