Whenever the economy of the United States is starting to go down, the US starts a war somewhere. During the war, someone has to sell weapons to them, and after the war, someone has to rebuild the country (and guess who decides which construction companies and from where get to do that). While the clock of those countries goes back a few decades, the industry in the US gets revitalized.
Now that the problem is internal, the US wants the rest of the world to be destroyed in order to put the United States back on its feet.
Frankly, I would say the better path is the one that’s already happening. The European Union, after more than a quarter century negotiating with the countries of South America (Mercosur) finally agreed to compromise. Canada signed a “no tariffs” agreement with China. NATO is sending troops to Greenland, not many, just enough that if the United States attacks, it will be immediately in war with every country with an army there.
The world is moving forward, as it happens when one side pushes too much. As Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney said while talking about the trade deal with China:
(Apologies for the long rant.)
