Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

You think president Vance would suddenly turn things around? The same puppetmasters are still pulling the strings.

[–] PhoenixDog@piefed.ca 31 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Maga doesn't dance for Vance. He's a useless piece of crap for the MAGA movement.

[–] NotSteve_@piefed.ca 18 points 1 day ago (1 children)

MAGA dances for whatever the hell they tell them to dance for. It's a cult and it's way far too gone for any one thing to snap them out of

[–] harmbugler@piefed.social 7 points 1 day ago

It's mostly a cult of personality. With any luck, when Trump dies MAGA dies.

[–] circuitfarmer@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Every MAGA comment I've seen about him sounds like they wish his dick was in their mouth at that very moment. (So it kind of is)

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago

I don't believe they wouldn't really behind him or anybody else who steps in immediately to keep the fascism and white nationalism going

[–] AmbiguousProps@lemmy.today 8 points 1 day ago

It wouldn't turn things around, or even solve most problems, but it sure would solve one problem.

Ain't no one listening to a homophobic douche with permanent eye liner

Dude couldn't even master ordering donuts or come up with a better campaign than ordering donuts ineffectively

[–] RunningInRVA@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

How long have you worked here? Oh, great.

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

What are we talking about

Well fuck. I had a second to stew on it, and that is a direct quote.

[–] homes@piefed.world 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

He’s such a cowardly weenie, he’d almost certainly be completely useless. And while he may be a giant piece of shit, at least he’s not completely bonkers like Trump.

[–] loie@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

Dude doesn't even know his own name, are we sure about that?

[–] Goodeye8@piefed.social 7 points 1 day ago

Trump is a piece of shit but he's got charm, he's got presence and people listen to him. He can straight up say shit that is factually untrue and his base will go "he's right you know".

JD Vance however is about as charming as a reddit mod. When he speaks people wish there was a mute button. The couch he fucks is more charming than him. Unless he goes through some transformation that makes him at the very least presentable Trumps base is going to turn on him. They're not going to listen to that ventriloquist puppet.

You think this trajectory we're on can get worse?

[–] RunningInRVA@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

It's not over yet and I suspect it will be getting much worse.
