Boycott US
Overview:
The community dedicated to boycotting the US until they stop fascism, restore full democracy and start following international law.
Americans have a moral obligation to resist Donald Trump and project 2025 at every turn.
America is a flawed democracy currently being ruled by oligarchs. Stop the backslide! Dont let America become the next Hungary.
America needs to challenge the court rulings of citizens united v. fec and shelby county v. holder, protect the media, implement independent district drawing, and the single transferable vote so they don't end up having people stay home in life-changing elections because they cannot vote for their favourite candidate.

Regrettably, Carney and Minister Solomon have each said that a ban of X is off the table (thanks /s, you knobs). It'd be nice to see Starmer do something good for a change
(Edit: also, I believe what Starmer is proposing is a ban of Grok on X, as opposed to a ban of X)
When did they say that? I'm pretty pissed that the kiddy porn deep fake pro Hitler platform isn't getting smaller with every fine and law we have on the books.
Just after midnight today, Jan 11th: "Contrary to media reports, Canada is not considering a ban of X."

Not surprised, but still disappointing. Had my hopes up for a second, against my better judgment. X is top of the list for tech to block and yet our government ministers and PM at still on there using it.
That AI minister is a fuckwit
"Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." - Benito Mussolini
You guys really don't get it yet do you?
That's apparently an unsourced quote but in practice it distills everything else he has to say about corporatism in particular and everything being within the state and such so whatever, just be aware you won't be able to find a speech with that phrase in it
I would argue that it also crucially ignores his goal of taking over the power of the church as well, but Mussolini was cagey on that matter by necessity so it's not evidence against the quote.
