I'm just incredibly shocked by the fact that an admin of the instance lemmy.dbzer0.com is openly supporting Hamas.

I'm sick and tired of seeing this shit. What fucking credibility does Hamas have? They've been in power for 20 years and what have they achieved? Their only acts of "resistance" is terrorist attacks against civilians, that's it. They quite literally haven't done a single thing to resist Israel whatsoever.
This entire debacle is their doing. They spent a long time planning the Oct 7th attacks, broke the status quo, declared a holy war, and now tens of thousands of Gazans are dead because of it. Those terrorist attacks that led to this current situation is their crown achievement. The result? Israel bombed the entire strip into the ground, the IDF marched right in unopposed, they started massacring civilians, and now they control everything. Where's the opposition? Where's the resistance? Hamas has resisted shit since their inception.
There is no other faction with comparable capacities, limited though theirs may be, fighting in Gaza for Palestinians.
What fucking capacity? People like you keep parroting this like it's some gospel truth when it's nothing more than made up nonsense. They have showed ZERO resistance to Israel. They can't even do as much as to even scratch an IDF tank.
Literally all they were able to muster in 20 long years is launch weak rockets that hit nothing and a few terrorist attacks against civilians, and every time Israel beats the shit out of them in retaliation. Their existence is literally a net a negative on the Palestinian population because every time they instigate something new, it's the Palestinian civilians that suffer.
It's been just a bit over 2 years since Oct 7, 2023 when Israel started raining hell on Gaza... What has Hamas done to resist since? Seriously, tell me. I'm giving it to you because I don't see it.

Hamas and Israel are opposing factions in armed struggle.
Israel seeks occupation, apartheid, and genocide over Palestine.
Hamas fights for the liberation of Palestine from Israel's barbaric oppression.
It should not seem complicated.
As if Hamas were just reacting to Israels oppression and have no agency of their own? As if they aren't fighting for a fundamentalist islamist state!?
Hamas emerged from within the context of a brutal occupation.
Before Israel, there was no Hamas.
Before the Nakba, there was no Hamas.
Hamas is fundamentally a construct of colonial resistance.
It is not seriously a threat to any interests except Israeli atrocities. Even if it did threaten Palestinians, the threat would be dwarfed by such atrocities of Israel. Palestinians are far safer through Hamas than they would be without Hamas. It is easy to imagine a superior alternative, but none actually exist in the present.
