The woman shot and killed by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer in Minneapolis on Wednesday was Renee Nicole Macklin Good, a 37-year-old mother of three who had recently moved to Minnesota.

She was a U.S. citizen born in Colorado and appears to never have been charged with anything involving law enforcement beyond a traffic ticket.

In social media accounts, Macklin Good described herself as a “poet and writer and wife and mom.” She said she was currently “experiencing Minneapolis,” displaying a pride flag emoji on her Instagram account. A profile picture posted to Pinterest shows her smiling and holding a young child against her cheek, along with posts about tattoos, hairstyles and home decorating.

A life snapped in a moment by someone that had no right. She was executed while trying to run away from a terrifying situation, and now her kids also have to endure the way they're talking of their mother and try to process that.

Don't let it be in vain.

The other day I was in the car and I remembered that gruesome video where a brick flies out of the back of a truck and instantly kills a mother in the following car's passenger seat...

My palms got kinda sweaty, and I started thinking about how I would react if that happened to my loved ones.

Then I remembered that I have much more immediate concerns to be worrying about, like getting stopped by ICE for being non-white (despite my citizenship) and getting shot in the face by someone with zero training.

I'm sorry for you people. The US is turning into a country like Nazi Germany and nobody is doing anything.

Now I understand how Hitler managed to raise into power without nobody stopping him.

As a German, what is happening in the US right now is exactly what I was extensively learning in school about, and it's absolutely horrifying. The Trump administration is following Hitler's playbook almost verbatim.

People not as familiar with German history tend to forget that Hitler solidified his absolute rule for about one year from 1933 to 1934. He still could have been stopped in that timeframe. That's where the US is right now with Trump, and time is running out.

If anyone else is interested, I highly recommend watching Babylon Berlin - an excellent show about the 1920-1930s Berlin. The second season specifically is very focused on the rise of Hitler and SA becoming more and more bold.

What do you mean! We constantly get articles about this and that person "being impeachable", or about some Democrats "discussing further steps", or "planning to sue"! LOTS of stuff is being done!
