Did they? All I see is this:

In a since-deleted tweet, U.S. Africa Command First said the strike was conducted at Nigeria’s request and killed multiple ISIS fighters in what it called an effort to eliminate terrorist threats.

It's not clear to me of that tweet was accurate or not, or if they were just saying they requested it

The Nigerian government also confirmed the US attack on Friday. The Foreign Ministry stated that such operations were part of ongoing security cooperation with the US, which had led to "precision strikes on terrorist targets" in the northwest of the country
