I have one (Proton VPN) but that can't be active at the same time as my Android App adblocker (Rethink DNS), which also works via a VPN

Mullvad has Adblock incorporated into their android app. Maybe that is something you can look into.

Or use their DNS? They have DNS that block ads.

huh. partly on topic. if you have your phone set to use a VPN (like the adblock one) and then your router set to use a different one (like Proton) does that work?
