I think that public discourse on subjects such as this is pretty important. I trust an academic with a record as sterling as Pinker to present his opinion and factual statements ina very professional and well-spoken manner, and you just never know who might be tuning in to something like that. For a lot of folks on the conservative side, something like this might be one of their only chances to hear from someone who isnt part of the conservative bubble. You never know
I agree. I don't know the individuals involved or the typical subjects discussed on the podcast, but I'm fine laying out the arguments and having an honest/real discussion.
Someone who initially thinks the answer is "Yes" should be able to watch this and be convinced "No" is the correct answer.
I trust Dr. Pangloss of the neoliberal order to present his argument in a factual way that does not mention his links with Epstein.
Considering the make-work program that is the US editorial section important conversation is how the Overton window got as narrow as it is.
I was unaware of any alleged ties to Epstein on Pinker's behalf. I cant gauge the veracity of those claims as all information I can obtain is through the media and we know how little that's worth. Very disheartening if true. However, I'm not sure it has much bearing on this particular discussion. That being said I do also think that anyone with confirmed ties to someone as vile as Epstein should become a pariah at the least.

The free-market capitalism variant of right-wing libertarianism? Okay.
Look, I don't know what exact word game you're trying to play here, or why you're spamming this exact comment evey time someone uses the word "neoliberal", and to be perfectly honest I don't care. But if you're gonna pick a concept to be in denial of, I'd pick one without a wikipedia page.
I linked wikipedia, too: both articles agree. Work on your literacy.
The ones in denial are dullards who use words without understanding them.
Yeah, no, I don't care what your flavor of crankdom is, not biting.
Yet you replied and are still wrong. Facts don't care about your ignorance & inability to comprehend them.
