Its quite a good idea. At first I thought, yeah but its multidisciplinary, but then I was reminded about the prize for Medecine, so the prizes already celebrate multidisciplinary fields.
I also considered the fact that the Nobel prize in economics generally follows a pattern of awarding, I can't remember what the broad subjects are but I know that its become a somewhat predictable pattern. This could be replicated with a Climate Change Nobel prize through the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution.
Its interesting because i've heard people say 'we know more about the theory of climate and it's changes than we do about the big bang theory.'
They've said that previously in mild exasperation at those claiming theres not enough evidence, but its likely true, and there've been some intensely important discoveries in climate and environmental science.
I mean the first one should probably go posthumously or as a combined to Charles David Keeling and Ralph Keeling for the Keeling Curve.
