they also died by 30 and 50% of children died by age 5.

had horrible nutrition, health, and zero education. oh and if you get a minor cut or injury? death.

That's not entirely true. The mortality numbers were skewed by high infant mortality which... I don't know why I'm bothering to argue with you.

because arguing with me means you might be wrong. not arguging with me means you're inherently correct and i'm wrong.

but seriously, do you not conceptually realize how absurd ti is to idealize the past like that? your life is more comfortable, safe, and luxurious than anytime in previous history for the average person.

also we don't even been history. you could have a life of misery and lots of leisure, by just having been born in africa. would you raise your current life for a citizen of Niger, where the monthly wage is $133 for the average person? No.

See, that's the line that makes me think you're not worth talking to. Right there.

No nuance no complexity can get through, because the fundamental problem for you seems to be criticizing the current way of shit

On balance, for a wealthy person in the imperial core who isn't gonna be systemically murdered by massive terrible machinery of state, to have all that innovation andgenuis turned against us? Sure. Better. I like my working toilet and my antibiotics and my vibrator.

But the point here is highlighting the specific shit that we lost, that was taken from us, stolen by capital. That the world was not always thus, and even our illiterate dirt-fucking incest-baby worshipping ancestors knew better than to stand for this. Antibiotics justifies and requires exactly none of the current labor regime or inequality. The production and maintenance of a Hitachi magic wand does not require I live in an 'ai' fueled hyperpanopticon. The nvidia Doom(2016) does not require every drop of water in the world be 20% plastic. And even a fucking dirt farming peasant could see that-so what the fuck is wrong with us

no dude, i am not telling you being critical is the problem. i'm telling you your delusional idealizing of the past is the problem.

what you are doing is similar to the MAGA nonsense. 'oh why can't we go back to the 1950s when men were men and women were women'. we can't because it isn't true. that past never existed other than on TV shows.

your ancesters didn't even have the concept of freedom as you have it today. to them their poverty was part of the divine order of the world, and just like you, they wished they could become kings and nobility, and resented them. but they were kept in check by brutality and force. social life was also incredibly narrow minded. if you didn't believe in god and went to church you were branded a witch and burned alive.

maybe study some actual history?

i mean look, if you want you can go buy a cheap piece of land and live out your medieval subsistence farming lifestyle, but i'm guessing you won't.

Yep. Pointless. Didn't even read it.
