When this happened that's literally what everyone was yelling at them.

Like, if you had to tell my hypothetical friend that never heard about "this", how would you describe "this" and its relevance for popular culture? Just because I myself am bad at explaining things. Obviously.

They meant it like, when this meme was first originally posted and fresh and being talked about.
If you're not able to distinguish that from the context of the comment and picture its about you should probably not be trying to explain anything to anyone, hypothetical or not.
I've read about PayPal doing some nasty unethical things with accounts, like up and locking them down for no good reason and being incredibly hard to communicate with about it
Convert it into copper, gold and/or silver bars so if society collapses and money is worthless you'll be able to conduct electricity
