A place for Australians and friends to share news from the other countries. Like all communities here, we discuss topics from the Australian perspective.
If you're looking for a global /c/worldnews instead, search for the many options on federated instances.
Rules
- Follow the aussie.zone rules
- We are not a generic World News clone. News must be relevant to Australians and our region. Obvious disregard will earn an warning and then a ban if continued. (If an article isn't from an Oceanian news outlet, and it doesn’t mention Australia, then it’s probably off-topic)
- Leave seppocentrism at the door. If you don't know what that means, you're not ready to post here yet.
- Avoid editorialising headlines. Opinions go in the comments, not the post.

They may get that visibility boost for now and at the expense of proper visibility for drivers in cars that sit lower than them.
In time (and it won't be long now), when most cars are sitting at the higher level, they'll need to go even higher to get that visibility back. By that point, it will not only be at the expense of nearly everyone else's visibility but also enters into a fun new category--limiting the drivers own visibility of shorter cars and most importantly pedestrians and anything on the ground in front of the vehicle.
The visibility argument is also dumb because in general these cars have much, much worse visibility
Maybe you can see over the top of other cars roofs, but that's about it

(Most of this video is about American style utes, but the same applies to SUVs and larger cars in general)
This. This right here. Same logic applied to America with all the dumb raised trucks and SUVs. Every car is soooo high now, you basically have raised the bar to the point where a car can just pass right over a small dog in most cases...
