Sesame Street licensing is crazy.

Certainly possible that there's a fully separate provision for using Elmo specifically, requiring separate credits.

That article just list different licensees and different types of uses for a license that have occurred. I remember when Elmo was so popular that he outshined the rest of Street.

My generation was the emo Elmo parody.

I mean, there was a toy back in the 90s that was aggressively over hyped. And as Children's Television Workshop was privatized, turning children's programming into a commodity was all that mattered. But Kermit went through the same cycle in the 70s/80s, then fell out of fashion.
