That's just wrong! You have to throw the egg first, then the flour, for a good battering.
The next thing could be breadcrumbs

I don't think so. I have seen and reproduced making a little volcano shape from the flour and putting egg and other ingredients inside it. Then you knock the top of the flour into the center and start kneading and as it turns into batter, you add more and more of the flour. Doing this, you can make it without a bowl, directly on a counter and it comes out fine.
