Remember when Nixon said that and it ended his presidency?
Don't worry, they're not. That's not going to happen.
Yeah. Nowadays it's just another section of the GOP letterhead.
It has been the unironic goal of conservatism to make sure another Nixon won't happen by making their presidents above the law.
That's why Fox News was created in the first place. All those Nixon lickers went to work there to set up propaganda for shitheads and after thirty years - BINGO

Pepperidge Farms doesn't remember, following a settlement out of court for an undisclosed amount.
If you're talking about the "If the President does it it's not illegal" quote, that came from an interview between Nixon and David Frost which occurred after his presidency was already over.
Why... WHY couldn't reporter person think of saying that.
They don't allow reporters in the White House press room anymore.
Then what even is this? Some kind of political humor picture?
It's a performance. A dog and pony show. A cargo cult facsimile of "press access". They're only keeping up appearances until they don't have to anymore. As in, once everyone has dismissed it as a farce, they can stop with the farce. As long as there are too many remaining who try to take it seriously, who would get people riled up if they just stopped even bothering to PRETEND to have press access, they will keep pretending for the sake of convenience. We all know what's really happening here. A tourniquet has been secured around this limb and the blood flow has been terminated, and they're just waiting for it to die, rot, and fall off on its own.
