Overview:

Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

No one burns anything unless they have to. And avoiding combustion is an improvement for any product.

Energy comes from renewables, atomic, geothermal or burning stuff like fossil fuels.

If they can divert the electrical production to clean energy then great. Otherwise, the combustion must still happen somewhere to get the electricity and at least for the US where we're all energy retarded, that's coal, diesel, kerosene, gasoline etc at the moment. The pollution is being diverted. And now useless AI is probably going to start using up a larger share of all power used. We need more clean sources.

Not touching AI, but for transport having 1 furnace will be more efficient than having 3000, so even in the US it would be a net positive.

As for China? They are installing more renewables than the rest of the world together atm. Sure, that can be said about any type of electricity generation idea, but they install more renewables than non-renewables too. I'd say they seem to be on target...
