I hate how politicized, religiousized and most especially corparatized nutrition science is, bloody shitshow (and yes I struggle through the minefield that is primary literature).
I agree that it feels like such a huge mess. Voices and advise pulling from every direction. Food companies with their thumb on the scale, so to speak. Kernels of truth that may be exaggerated or misconstrued. All sorts of bad culture reinforcing bad habits. Food deserts. Pressure to favor convenience over healthy and home cooked.
Itβs such a mess.
But Iβm not sure if we should be shit talking this outlet. Hating on vegans and vegetarians is so last century.
Also, there's no one-size-fits-all diet. Despite being so close in DNA, we can still be radically different from one another.
