"Elected by the American people... Twice!"
It's hard to undersell how important that last bit is. Americans want to blame Trump for their gut feelings and pretend it wasn't them who fucked up.
Gotta remember that "elected" in USA means that some minority of the population voted for him in the very few states where voting matters at all.
Only 22% of the population voted for this guy (77 million out of 344 million).
The belief in "democracy" is part of the scam.
