I once read a Star Wars conspiracy that Jar Jar was the most successful Sith - he does more damage than any of the overt Sith just by being a moron. I think that comparing trump to Jar Jar is a pretty good match

I'm convinced that Darth JarJar was canon until the poor reception the character got made George Lucas chicken out, and that the prequel trilogy would've been way better than the one we got if he'd followed through instead.

Fan outrage causes directors to back off and play it safe, making the film worse.

It really is like poetry. It rhymes.

According to the behind the scenes documentary on the making of the prequels, Lucas was surrounded by a bunch of young yes men/fans fawning him and praising that his ideas are great. So his silly ideas were not critiqued and included in the movies. Jar Jar would have been taken more seriously had his character design was not silly. If Darth Jar Jar was meant to be canon, Lucas was trying to make a Kaiser Sose out of Jar Jar but failed.

It's a shame that the prequels was badly written because there are plenty of interesting ideas and social commentary, and they are especially relevant now considering where the world is heading. I hadn't thought toxic masculinity and loniless could lead to real life social impact and underestimating it was precisely what the prequels were saying, but Lucas badly conveyed the themes and message.
