If not even book writers can get Clipit's name right, then what hope is there for humanity?

Where the hell did people even get the idea that his name was "Clippy"? I used MS Office extensively in the 90s; his name was always Clipit.

This shit is almost as bad as dead naming a trans person.

Its just one of those things that were a different name just sounds better, it's like the Berenstein/Berenstain Bear thing.

Microsoft embraced the nickname almost as fast as users did. And no, it's not even close to dead-naming an actual human being. Suggesting such is ludicrous and dramatic, just like your "what hope is there for humanity?" cry. Get some fucking perspective.
